To provide coverage for specific content that go beyond the standard amount allow would mean the home owner would have to purchase an additional content insurance policy or increase the amount of their original policy for contents.
Usually house insurance cover specific items claims within your home. However it is a good idea for everyone to take a full inventory of the contents of their homes. This includes a list of all items, their replacement values and photographs. This is a good way to document the actual contents so the insurance company has detailed information in the event of an incident which means the home owner will file a claim. A video recording of all the contents within your home and surrounding your home is recommended as well to provide additional evidence of items owned.
